What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What's in the article?

Most air conditioners are made for sliding window frames, and standard window openings. Casement window air conditioners, however, are made for casement windows; these are windows that swing open outwards instead of sliding from side to side. Here's how to install your casement window air conditioner easily and properly:

How to Install Air Conditioner: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Read the Manual

First, read the manual that came with your air conditioning unit. Here, you'll find the information relevant to your casement window air conditioner, such as warranty details, installation guide, troubleshooting guide, error codes, and warnings or disclaimers. Read through the user's manual carefully before starting the installation process.

Step 2: Gather Your Materials

Next, gather the necessary materials and equipment you'll need to install the air conditioner. You'll need a few tools to fit the air conditioner through the window opening, such as a measuring tape, pencil, and some screws and screwdriver.

  • Screwdriver
  • Screws
  • Measuring tape
  • Ladder (optional)
  • Pencil
  • Plywood or plexiglass
  • Drywall T-square
  • Window brace beam

Step 3: Install the Support Base on the Exterior Wall

Go to the outdoor side of your wall, and secure the support base where you're planning to install your air conditioner. Most air conditioners would already have support brackets included in the kit, but you may also make your own using plywood or metal. Keep the support base parallel to your window frame, slightly tilted outwards for condensation.

Step 4: Remove the Window Frame, then Find the Center Point

Remove the window pane of the side of the window where you will install your air conditioner. Place and plumb in the window brace beam for support. Find the leading edge on the right side of the window, also known as the window jamb. Secure the brace on the window jamb using screws and washers.

To find the center point, find the leftmost point of your window frame, and measure leftward, at around 8 11/16 inches away from the leftmost point, and mark the spot for the platform assembly in the next step.

Step 5: Install the Platform Assembly

Assemble the platform that came with your air conditioner, and pass it through the window opening to fit along the front edge of your support base. Line up the center hole precisely to the center point you marked in step 4, and screw the platform assembly in. Check if your platform is fully secured, if not, create additional supports with plywood.

Step 6: Secure the Casement Window Air Conditioner

Place the casement window air conditioner onto the supporting platform, securing the metal frame with screws. It is easier to dismantle the air conditioner from its frame as you can see where the unit should be screwed into the platform.

Step 7: Adjust and Align the Casement Window AC

Once the AC unit is secure, place the internal components into the metal housing, and close it off. Adjust and align the air conditioner in the window to minimize the gaps as much as possible, and let the AC unit tilt outwards for better condensation expelling. Close the window sash if possible.

Step 8: Seal Off the Gaps

Use foam seal, silicone, or caulking to seal off any small gaps, and to create an airtight seal around your air conditioner. If you have large gaps, such as for horizontal casement windows, use plywood or plexiglass to fill in the large gaps.

Step 9: Test Your AC Unit

Plug in your unit, and test it out after 30 minutes of installation. This wait time is necessary to allow the refrigerant to settle inside the unit. If your AC unit is blowing cool air without any problems, then you've successfully installed your air conditioner!
